The Alliance for Regional Development, in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, will host the 7th Annual Summit on Regional Competitiveness, A New Decade: Disruption, Driving Innovation, and Embracing Economic Change virtually, November 16th-20th, 2020. This week-long event will include a series of panels and keynote speeches from more than 35 high-profile international, regional, and local thought leaders.
This year’s conference will cover different themes each day. On Monday, November 16, panelists will discuss the impacts of Covid-19 in the region, and responses that can drive racial and economic equity. Tuesday, November 17 sessions will cover the theme of “disruption,” and the ways it can lead to technological innovation and shifts in thinking. On Wednesday, November 18, panelists will explore the theme “innovation,” providing examples of how disruption can drive improvement in the transportation sector. The Thursday, November 19 program will explore how government—both local and federal— are adopting policies and addressing equity issues while embracing economic change. Closing sessions on Friday, November 20 will look at the future of work in our region.
The virtual conference is open to the public and press, and participants can attend the full conference or choose individual sessions to attend when registering.
